Two special flowers

There are two flowers that are especially common in Hawaii. I think the Plumeria is the fragrance that perfumes the air, and gives Maui that wonderful tropical scent. This flower is often represented in jewelry,art...just about anything with an image. They are abundant...we would pick them off the ground and tuck them behind our ears.(Left side for married...right for available)

The scent is popular in lotions, oils, shampoo, soaps....

Plumeria Orchid
This fragrant flower is used to make the lei. They are everywhere too. Instead of chocolate, we got an orchid on our pillow with a Haiku poem.

As we got out of the car in front of the hotel...we were given this traditional lei. The boys got one made out of a green vine.
