52 questions

I 've been working on some ongoing tag projects for several months...but this "52 questions"
adventure that I found here has really got me thinking.

The idea is to create a little piece based on the question of the week. I think you can do whatever you like after that. I love the freedom of this stream of consciousness project, and the thought provoking ideas that present themselves in the answers. It seems that most people have the question on the front, and an answer on the back. (when they are using tags)

Here are the fronts of all my tags for the month of January.

My oldest son's interpretation of his i-phone. I think he did a fabulous job with his very first painting.

We had a snow day today!
Gone are the days when my children could hardly wait to bundle up and make snow forts and snowmen... only to come filing in 30 minutes later for hot chocolate. The piles of wet clothing in the laundry room, still packed with snow...are non existent.
I won't be finding that lone glove in the middle of the yard when the snow melts. Nor will I be reminding them to bring the sled back into the garage before it blows away. I won't be substituting a large cardboard box for when the sled would inevitable end up wedged in someone else's pine trees blocks away. I don't have to rummage through the crisper drawer in the refrigerator to find that forgotten dried up carrot for the snowman.
Change is hard sometimes.
I remind myself to embrace change.

Some things change, and some things stay the same. Snow days always make me feel like baking...why is that?
I baked hazelnut brownies...

and little heart cakes...

that I decorated...
with fluffy marshmallow cream and sprinkles...

I baked a raspberry coffee cake...

and bread...

and, I ate a little of everything... while I watched the snow change to rain and
slowly wash away our snow day.

The Gypsy Caravan

So, here's the additional item I am adding to my giveaway for One World One Heart. It's a gypsy caravan! Well, actually it's a covered wagon that I found in an antique market months ago. I'll probably post more pictures at another time.... I embellished it, added fabric, trims, buttons etc... and voila! I love it, and it will be hard to let go. I hope whomever wins it loves it as much as I do. If you absolutely would prefer not to own this, let me know when you win, and I will substitute a $30 gift card to a place of your choice. I promise, you won't hurt my feelings.
I'm really not done with it...I'll probably add things here and there as I have the time, and as I think of them.

I also made a little old gypsy lady to go along with her caravan. I sculpted her out of Polymer clay and created a gypsy outfit for her.

All of the comments listed on my One World One Heart post are automatically included for this giveaway. If you haven't entered the giveaway yet, be sure to post your comment here,

on the official OWOH post. That's important because that's the post where the winner will be chosen.

Right after midnight, on February 12... I will choose a winner and contact that person.

Now, Im off to pull an all-nighter so I can clean my house. I envy those of you who enjoy this task.

What's falling in your lap?

To leave a comment on the One World One Heart giveaway post... click here.

My mind is going crazy trying to organize my crazy schedule this week.
We need more hours in a day!

I've got a lap full of projects that are almost done. I've really been sidetracked by the project I'm working on to add to my giveaway. It should be ready to post soon! I'm so excited about it.

The swaps deadlines are coming up too...is everyone ready? This should be so much fun seeing all our Valentine goodies.

Here's hoping that your Monday is coming up roses!

Chinese New Year Celebration
The Year Of The Ox
Tonight we were invited to a Chinese New Year Celebration by my sister-in-law and family.
Some families in the area who have adopted from China got together to celebrate the Year Of The Ox.

There was a lot of yummy Chinese food... and little children dressed in adorable clothing.

My niece already has a handle on those chopsticks!

Of course, you know me...I head straight for the desserts!
Yummy cake!
Delicious cookies...all adorned with ox images.

My nieces are getting ready for the parade by banging on pan lids.

Here comes the dragon!

Crafts were made...

...and bubble wrap fireworks!!!!

We had a fun, festive evening! Thanks for letting us share in the celebration!

Here's the piece using the moon saying. I molded the moon, medallion and girl out of polymer clay and then painted them. I love how the gold box reflects everything.
