Care package
I'm gathering a care package to send to Elijah, the little boy I sponsor in China. I love the Eric Carle caterpillar baby jingle toy and the bear lovey is so soft. I have to fit everything in a small box for it to get to the orphanage. If I can squeeze anything else in there and stay below the weight limit, I will.

Sunday sanity sojourn
It's been another crazy weekend. It seems like yesterday that I was writing about last weekend.
I really need a vacation...no, I really need the entire summer break.
I did get to go junkin' today...which I haven't done in ages. I went primarily to relax because it's been a really tough week. I was hoping to find some vintage millinery for my daughter's hair for prom. I found a few which I'll share when I can photograph them in daylight. I found lots of other little treasures too...one of which is this adorable coloring book.

Box Social
My daughter's musical, Oklahoma is coming up. The cast decided to have a box social like they do in the musical. They had the girls in the cast team up to make a basket of food that the boys will "bid" on. Instead of actually paying for the baskets, they plan on playing the game Now You Have It Now You Don't. A guy will pick a basket and other guys will have the chance to "steal" it away until they've gone through all the guys in the cast. Whoever ends up with the basket will share it with the two girls. I still think they should have broken from stereotypical roles and had the guys make the baskets!
Like mother, like daughter...I believe my theme obsessions have rubbed off on my daughter. The other cast member decided to make cookies to contribute to the meal. My daughter went a little crazy.
She decided to decorate the basket...

March Madness
I haven't had much spare time for art or crafting these last few weeks, and I'm itching to get some free days...rather than moments.... to get my hands back into my paints, fabrics, papers and bits. I'm finishing up my egg garland to meet that deadline.... and that's been keeping me from going through total withdrawal....but, I really need A LOT more time. I'm afraid Spring will be gone before I even get to play... as much as I'd like... with those spring colors.
I'm even behind on my Easter decor...a few bunnies have hopped out of storage though.

I'm anticipating the Easter eggs due to arrive for the blog land Easter egg hunt. I sent this little collage along to Viv when I mailed my eggs in early March. I wanted to wait to show it, so it wouldn't spoil her surprise. It's a tribute to her beloved cat.

Spring loaded weekend
Got motivation?
Weird dog moment.
Last night at 12:30, Bentley came to my bedside whining until I woke up. He never does this. He paced back and forth...pawed at the bed...whined some more....ran to the hall...cried. He wanted me out of that bed. He was acting like he was trying to tell me something.
My weekend's been jammed full of friends and food. Exactly the way I like it. I enjoy planning weekends with a full itinerary and that's usually NOT the way things go around here. It started on Thursday evening when I met a friend for coffee at Starbucks. Friday, I had lunch with another friend at Panera's and that evening my family met some friends for dinner and drinks at a local sports bar.
Today, I ate lunch at a downtown pub, and then dinner at Chili's.
Way too much food and drink this weekend, and now I'm feeling tired and sluggish. This is where I should say I'll have to add a few miles on the treadmill to counteract those calories. But instead, I'll just try to go lighter tomorrow...maybe I'll eat a few less Dove chocolates. :)
Got motivation?
On top of my culinary excess, my spring allergies have kicked in...gee... I only had about a two month reprieve from fall allergies. I'll be living on Benadryl for awhile. Darn pollen.

Lassie episodes played in my head...is the house on fire? Is something wrong with one of the kids? Is a hurricane, earthquake or some other natural disaster about to occur? I checked the house, checked the kids, checked outside...nothing.
He didn't have to go out.. I know this because I've trained him to ring bells when he needs to go to the bathroom. Just the same, I tried. Nope...he didn't follow me to the door.
After awhile he seemed to settle down...whatever was causing such concern no longer bothered him...he walked back to his bed and went to sleep.
Lucky him. I stared at the ceiling most of the night.

A treat for the senses
I won a give away and my goodies arrived today! I feel like these wonderful treats are just perfect for me. I love parties and color and candy!
Look how awesome they look in this basket that I placed them in.
It's a color explosion!!!
These party hats full of sugar and sweetness are amazing.
These cones are simply divine!

First signs of spring
I saw the first shy daffodil blooms yesterday. The day before, they were closed. Look how they tentatively bend their yellow petals and shyly lift their blooms...as if they're not quite sure the winter is really ready to give up its hold on them.
The fancy dance skirts of the pansy.
